June Favourites

Sunday, 29 June 2014

I can’t believe it’s June already. It has been a pretty busy month for me finishing exams and finally graduating (congratulations to everyone who was/is in the same boat)!

This month I decided to shake things up a little bit. I’m branching out, including not only beauty favourites but other aspects of my life that I have been enjoying as well :)

Favourite Beauty Product: China Glaze City Flourish Nail Polish Collection
This will not come as a suprise to anyone who has been reading my blog lately! I did an entire post on the collection here.

Favourite Fashion Item: Marc by Marc Jacobs Bag
This is another item that won't be too surprising as I’ve mentioned it before here. I’ve been using this almost everyday, it holds just what I need and nothing more :)

Favourite Book: Wuthering Heights
This was a pretty intense read to say the least.

Favourite Night Out: Dinner and a Movie
I know dinner and a movie may sound pretty typical haha. Not too long ago I went out for dinner with my Mom and my brother to a great neighbourhood place and then went to see The Fault In Our cheesy as it sounds I had a great time!

Summer Tag

Friday, 27 June 2014

Now that Summer has officially arrived what better way to celebrate than doing the Summer Tag?
I was tagged by the ever so lovely Karolina from Summer Fling (blog).

1. What’s your favourite summer nail polish?
In my last post (linked here) I reviewed the China Glaze City Flourish nail polish collection. I definitely think all the polishes in the collection are great for Summer. However, the colour that reminds me most of summer from this collection would have to be the orangey pink Petal to the Metal.

2. What is your favourite lip colour this Summer?
It would have to be the “liquid lipstick” by Lip Fusion/ Beauty Fusion in the shade Bunny.

3. Show us your favourite Summer dress.
This dress was also included in a haul I posted earlier (linked here). I think part of why I love this dress so much is because for some reason I think it has a bit of a retro look to it.

4. What is your favourite Summer accessory?
My new bag also featured in a previous haul haha (linked here). This is one of my favourites because the colour of the bag goes great with the lighter colours I wear in the Summer :)

5. What Summer trends are you most excited about this year?
BRAIDS! I have been obsessed with looking at pretty pictures of braids this Summer….I am hoping to improve my hair braiding ability so that I can try some of the looks out haha.

6. What is your favourite summer candle?
To be honest I prefer to use scented candles in the Winter rather than Summer. So I guess I would go with regular tea lights. However if I were to choose a scent it would definitely be something airy and fresh.

7. What is your favourite body spray/ perfume.
I did a review of the Chanel Chance perfume (linked here). I also really like the Miss Dior Cherie Perfume though as well.

8. What is the weather like where you live in the Summer?
Hot and humid!

9. What is your favourite thing about Summer?
I am going to be rebellious and pick two. The first would be enjoying the sun and warmer weather. The second would be that everyone just seems more relaxed and happier in the Summer.

10. What are your plans for Summer vacation?
I do not have too many plans. However I am planing to go to Europe and I’m also planning to spend a couple of days by a lake.

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers!

I would like to tag Bianca from le journale brule, jamie johnston and of course anyone who has read this and is interested in doing it! If you do it let me know because curious to know what your answers would be!

Review: China Glaze City Flourish Collection

Wednesday, 25 June 2014

Recently it has been cloudy, dull and rainy where I live. To be honest the weather has been getting to me, so to cheer myself up a bit I decided to paint my nails…. and while I was at it a little review :)

Quite some time ago I picked up the China Glaze City Flourish Collection Peonies & Park Ave set. I love the colours and think that this set has a good mix of bright/pale and warm/cool. As for the polish itself, I found it to be a little runnier than I would have liked but it only took a little getting used too.

from left to right: Peonies & Park Ave, Petal To The Metal, Spring In My Step
(I know my nails don't look great. I painted them to see the colour more than anything else.)
from left to right: At Vase Value, Lotus Begin, In A Lilly Bit

My favourite colour is Spring In My Step (although I also love In a Lilly Bit) and decided to paint my rest of nails using this polish. Overall I think this is a great set to add to any nail polish collection and perfect for spring/summer.

Summer Haul: Anthropologie and Department Store

Monday, 23 June 2014

Recently I went on a little trip with my Mom and of course we ended up doing a little shopping. The majority of the clothes in this haul are from a department store. The store was having one of those “up to 50% off” sales, so naturally I had to buy a little more than usual ;) We also made a little trip over to Anthropologie and I picked up one item which unfortunately was not on sale. However the weather was colder than expected and the sweater went perfectly with what I was wearing so it was well worth it :)

white shirt, Bought: department store, Brand: Jager

navy shirt, Bought: department store, Brand: Jager
bag, Bought: department store, Brand: Marc by Marc Jacobs

light blue shirt, Bought: department store, Brand: Vince
sweater, Bought: Anthropologie, Brand: Moth

I hope everyone has a lovely week.

Review: Chanel Chance

Saturday, 7 June 2014

I received this eau de toilet as gift from my friends not to long ago. In my opinion it checks all the boxes for the perfect Summer scent and I am sure it will become my go to scent this Summer.

Chance has a sweet and slightly floral scent.  The fragrance is very elegant however,  it is also youthful and fresh. The scent lingers for quite awhile. However, I have never had any type of fragrance last the whole day and Chance is no exception. I also adore the packaging as it is clean and sophisticated.

I don’t think I could have asked for a better gift so I would like to say a big huge thank you to my friends!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
